Write the contrast into behavior
Define the impression a stranger receives and the fact that complicates it. A hidden motive is useful when it explains an evasive answer, a sudden hesitation or a different response to someone the character trusts. Appearance can support the contrast, but it should not be the only sign that something is concealed.
Offer more than one way to find out
Give the opening an immediate purpose. A friendly question, a skeptical response and a change of subject should still encounter the same underlying character. Decide what remains true even when the Kyn does not reveal it. The user should be able to investigate without having every clue explained in the first reply.
Test the reveal against the background
Read the greeting and biography together to check for accidental contradictions. A later reveal should change the reader's understanding rather than replace earlier facts without explanation. Trick or True is an archived creation theme, not a statement that an event is currently accepting entries.
