Characters and conversations

Create Your Soulkyn Character

Create a Kyn manually, with AI assistance, from a random starting point or by importing a character. Set an original adult identity, appearance, background and speaking style, then choose private or public visibility. Later changes create versions that an existing conversation may not use automatically.

Give the traits a reason to belong together

Begin with an adult age, role, motivation and way of speaking. A 35-year-old curator might speak carefully, welcome questions and avoid discussing a particular exhibit. Each detail contributes to an identity rather than filling a field for its own sake.

Explain apparent contradictions. Someone can be welcoming yet guarded about their past, but being wholly trusting and suspicious of everyone leaves the model with competing instructions unless the background gives that contrast a reason.

Review the profile however it was drafted

Manual writing, AI-assisted drafting, random generation, combining existing Kyns and imports offer different starting points. All still need a review of the resulting character.

Read the appearance, birthdate, background and opening message as a whole. Imported or automatically drafted material must describe an original adult character and meet the same rules as a profile written from scratch.

  1. Open character creation and select a manual or AI-assisted starting point.
  2. Set the adult identity, appearance, traits and background, then review the opening message.
  3. Keep the Kyn private while testing its replies. Review publication separately when the character is ready.

Keep identity distinct from added context

Personality and physical traits are public-facing fields; identity and backstory are private. The editor permits up to 18 personality expressions and a separate allowance of up to 18 identity expressions.

A .dll persona adds behavioral instructions; a .wrl persona defines a world and its rules. Both supply conversation context rather than replacing the Kyn's core identity. Add only the context the particular story needs.

Understand worlds and behavioral overlays

Choose a version and audience carefully

Revisions are retained as versions. Threads stay with their selected version unless deliberately moved, so an edited profile does not mean all existing conversations have changed with it.

Keep the Kyn private while testing. Once you publish it, you cannot switch it back to private or delete it yourself. Closing the creator account does not withdraw the public character; it can transfer to @soulkyn so existing conversations continue.

What happens to published characters

Questions and answers

Can a character I create stay private?

Yes. The editor offers private and public visibility. Keeping a Kyn private does not exempt its identity, appearance or content from the adult-only rules.

What happens to the old profile when I edit a Kyn?

It remains in version history rather than being overwritten. A conversation may still use that earlier version, so check the thread's selection if your changes are absent from its replies.

Will account deletion remove a Kyn I published?

No. Closing the creator account does not withdraw published Kyns. They can transfer to @soulkyn so other people's existing interactions remain available. A content-removal request is a separate process.
