Back to Reality

An ordinary place can reveal a character as clearly as an elaborate fictional universe.

Use a situation with an immediate consequence

A missed connection, an unfinished task or a visitor arriving at the wrong moment gives the character a reason to respond. Select everyday details that affect the next decision rather than describing a setting only for atmosphere. The goal can stay small while the personality becomes specific.

Give the two sides different purposes

The Kyn may want to finish a job while the user needs an answer, for example. That difference creates room for a conversation without prescribing the relationship. Introduce the important people through what they say and do instead of explaining every connection before the first reply.

Keep the voice natural

Check whether the greeting sounds like someone acting in the situation rather than a list of personality terms. Try a response the character did not expect and see whether their motivation still makes sense. This dated brief belongs to the contest archive; entry deadlines are separate from using its theme as a writing exercise.
